Please help Baby Love-she's a pup pal of our dog, Velcro

Mom just went over to one of our dog, Velcro's pup pals, Baby Love and was horrified to read that she's not doing well!!! It seems her shunt has become detached from her brain, Baby Love was born with hydrocephalus (fluid on the brain). She's had the surgery once but now she's going to have to have it again! This surgery is not cheap, so Baby Love's wonderful mom has set up an address for donations to help with the cost of the surgery-please donate any amount if you can help her!!! Our mom and our dog feel a close bond to Baby Love-it must be a Cattle Dog thing!!! Please help our doggie pal!!!

A Call from the Vet

Mom got a call from the vet about Kodak's fructosamine levels and 3 perf's blood work. Kodak's fructosamine was 326, which is only one point higher than what it was in April, 325, so the vet is very happy! She wants to have him tested again in 6 weeks and if it hasn't changed much we might be stopping his insulin to see if he's levelled off.....

3 Perf's blood work looked pretty good. His potassium level was slightly elevated, .3 above normal. And his White Blood Cell count was up, especailly the Ecyinophiles and the Nutrophiles. The Ecynophiles show either an inflamation or parasites and the Nutrophiles can be elevated due to stress, inflammation or infection. And since we've ruled out parasites, the vet is now treating his diahrea with prednisone for inflammation-most likely of the bowl.....IBD. Hmm...we'll see how he feels and if it works. She's hoping the prednisone will be short term!!

So Perf will be taking pills again-and he HATES to be given pills!! It will be a fun time for mom!

Memorial Day Mancat Monday at home with mom...

but she's going back to work tomorrow....meow! We're not happy about that. We've enjoyed having mom here!!

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the amazing men and women who have fought for this country and haven't made it home to their loved ones!

We think the vet will be calling mom tomorrow about Perf's bloodwork and Kodak's fructosamine levels....until then, we'll snuggle with mom tonight and dream of yummy food she'll give us in the morning! Good night!

Saturday caturday at home with mom

It's saturday and mom is home for a three day holiday! of course since it's saturday it usually means errands for mom and today is no exception. She's taking Kodak and 3 perf to the vet today! Ha Ha I get to stay home with the dog! Kodak is getting his glucose spot check and his fructosamine checked, since he's down to one unit one times a day of his insulin. Perfy is going to have blood drawn for some blood work. Mom thinks something is up because he has diahrrea still. yucky! She came home this morning at 4am to a lovely sample in the litter box-but she's been talking to the vet all week. Mom noticed him drinking alot this morning....we'll see what the blood tests tell us. Mom is keeping her fingers crossed that it's something silly!!! But since we're all getting up there in ages it seems to be that stuff seems to happen. Mom says the Vets office knows her now by her first name-we don't know if that's a good thing or not. Kodak and perfy are just getting vet tech appts since it's just lab work that's being done, but mom will still have to warn the poor vet tech's about Perfy-he's MEAN at the vet!!!!!

Wordless Wednesday!

Wow it's been a week since we posted!

Mom and her busy schedule have not been conducive to us blogging! She goes to work and is gone at least 14 hours a day..and who do we have to play with, the DOG! And all she wants to do is sniff our butts and heel us! Mom does her job before going to her human job. She gives us love when she wakes up and food! And then of course she has the round of medications. Perfy isn't getting any medication anymore. But it hasn't seemed to help his diahhrea-oops we don't think we've spelled it right. Yeah Perfy has had a loose stool-mom isn't too pleased and can't figure out what is wrong with him. She thinks it might be something-so he will probably be going back to the vet next weekend for blood work.

This week has been very hot in southern california. Mom has taken up all our blankets and put down cool sheets for us to lie on-we like the hardwood floors and Kodak seems to like the bathroom counter! He spent all day there today lying next to the kitty fountain-and now he's wet! But it might cool him down!

Well, we must go. We want to snuggle and spend as much time with mom before she goes to her human job in the morning!

Saturday and mom's at home-Yippee!

Mom is home and not going to that silly place called work until monday morning. She slept in super late this morning, 10:30am-of course she didn't get home from work until 3am...so we all cut her some slack except for Kodak! he was knocking over glasses and trying to knock over water bowls in an attempt to wake mom up. Mom thinks he wanted his insulin!! I on the other hand played with mom this morning! She threw balls to me and I hid-it was fun. Winton slept or attacked velcro, the dog. hope all our kitty friends are having a wonderful saturday!

A sunday at home with mom! She's given us alot of love this weekend-we think it's because she was out of town last weekend! no matter the reason we love it!

Perfy went to the vet today-mom had wanted to take him last weekend-but since she left town to run in a half marathon, she had to wait until today. He's had a bit of diarrhea-not everyday but enough that mom was concerned. Mom said he was very good at the vet today-he has CAUTION attached to his file(because he can be MEAN). He didn't try to claw or bite the vet, but he did growl the entire time! Mom was given some meds and we're waiting for the stool sample to come back! But he did get the special treatment of sitting in the car and lounging! Mom lets all of us do that when we come back from the vet!
