Mom signed up to run the Carlsbad Half Marathon for some doggy charity

Mom has signed up and will be running the Carlsbad Half Marathon again this year for one of their official charities, Labrador Rescuers. It's a doggie charity-they don't seem to have cat charities at these running events so I guess we'll have to support a doggy charity! She's set up her donation page and if you'd like to donate to help these Labradors find forever homes here is the link:

We can't run it with her...why would we want to run? But mom saved us all-so we support her wanting to help doggies that don't have a home.

Please help if you can. Any amount will help mom reach her goal and help these doggies find a forever home and help them if they are sick!

An orange morning

Mom says it's always an orange morning, every morning! I always sleep at mom's head. When her alarm goes off, I'm right there, with the dog, to help her wake up!

Vet time for Blossom

Today, mom took me out all by myself in the car! We went to the v-e-t.....mom said I was due a yearly exam and a booster vaccine. I wasn't too happy about being there but I had mom with me so I felt safe!

The vet said I looked really good! Clean ears, healthy coat and I'm a perfect weight!!

Sink time...

Kodak's body temp must be warm for he was found lounging in mom's bathroom sink! His back legs run warm-and he pulls the fur off his legs because of this. Mom will be making another call to the vet. Maybe he can start accupuncture again!

9/11 and Happy Birthday Mom

Today we remember and honor the 2755 people who lost their lives 8 years ago...and my mom. It's her birthday to day!

Lazy Lounging Labor Day

Kodak has been feeling warm! Mom doesn't know if it's diabetes or something else but he LOVES to lie on the cool bathroom floor!

His insulin has been increase to 2 units twice a day and mom thinks he's beginning to act more like himself!! And his tummy and legs haven't been as hot as they had! We hope he starts to cool down a bit! But the floor is always there if he needs it!

Orange Day

This is how mom woke up this morning! To two orange furries!! Our doggy loves us! And we all love mom!!

Kodak and his Blood Work Numbers

Mom just wanted to update all our furry friends on Kodak's diabetes. He was taken to the vet on Saturday because mom thought he wasn't "quite right." He's been acting a bit lethargic, he's been chewing the fur off his leg again, he's been radiating heat from his lower legs and abdomen and drinking more water. Our vet checked him out and stole his blood!!

Mom got the results of Kodak's stolen blood today. Our vet said Kodak's red and white blood cells all look good. His Kidney numbers are good as is his liver numbers and thyroid numbers. But as mom and the vet thought, his blood glucose levels are elevated.

His blood was stolen in April as well for these tests and mom wanted to share the differences:

So Kodak will be getting more insulin. Our vet has increased his insulin to 2 units twice a day....mom hopes this makes Kodak feel better!
