We're in Nashville!!! We made it!

We made it!!! We got into granny and grandpa's house around 1pm yesterday! Mom took us out of the car first, since we had spent 3 1/2 days being super good kitties!!! Here we were getting ready to meet our cousins, Hamish and Muffy! All was going well for awhile. Mom thought Hamish and Blossom might have a difficult time, since she's the wild thing, but it wasn't Blossom that had a run in with Hamish, it was 3 Perf. And it sounded awful! Blossom ran away when Perf started making those deep gutteral noises. Mom was called-granny and grandpa didn't want to pick him up because he had that wild crazed look in his eye! So mom put him in the room and tried to calm him down! He growled and made noises for a few hours and then he was fine...but now they are taking turns roaming around the house! Hamish primarily sleeps on granny's bed, so the beans put up baby gates to keep them separated! Of course silly Blossom just climbs over the gates but Perf doesn't and neither does Hamish-so mom and granny seem to think they've found a system that is working!! Of course Blossom isn't in the least bit interested in our cousin kitties because granny has a BIRD! Blossom has kitty tv 24/7! She's been caught trying to put her paw inside the cage and trying to climb on it! The bird, Eddie, hisses at her...Blossom doesn't know what to think of a hissing bird!!

We all snuggled with mom last night. Perf slept at moms head and I curled right beside her and snuggled in her arm. Blossom kept climbing over the gate to go investigate!!! Today we've had a very relaxing day. It's raining and we're so glad we're on warm blankies!!!

We've traveled far but still haven't reached Tennessee

Last night we stayed in Tucumcari, NM. Mom said it was cold...we didn't really feel it because we were wisked from the car and into the hotel room where we were given stinky goodness and love!! Perfy and Kodak slept on pillows right next to mom's head, I slept on the other bed! I had spent the evening running all around the room!!

Today, mom bundled us back into the car and we were off....it was still COLD! Thank goodness we don't live outside!! We'd never survive this cold!!! We like our warm blankets.

Mom drove and drove and drove....she stopped in oklahoma City to eat lunch with a friend...and then she drove and drove!! For a total of 13 hours. Mom thinks we are the best travelers ever!!! We don't make a noise! I mainly stayed in the back, aka the cat area. As did perf. Kodak was in the carrier most of the day. At 7pm when he got his insulin, mom took him into the front and put him on a warm blanket. She thinks he was getting cold!!

We're now in Conway Arkansas....just 5 1/2 hours tomorrow until we arrive at nanny and grandpa's house and our kitty cousins. They've been told we are arriving....Kodak and Perf have met the kitty cousins. I have not! Actually, I hadn't traveled at all until this trip, so everything is new to me. So tomoorw we see the cousins, Muffy and Hamish. Mom is concerned that I'll fight with hamish or that hamish will fight with me. He's a former California cat that mom rescued and then gave to her mom...so he's pulled up his chair inTtennessee and doesn't want any other kitties there..... I guess we'll see.

Mom has said once we get to the house tomorrow and have better internet she'll let us visit our friends. until then...we all hope you've had a great weekend!! Thanks for sharing our cross country trip!!

We're traveling!

We just finished our first day of our trip. Traffic was so bad leaving Los Angeles we didn't make the stop mom wanted, Flagstaff. We made it to Needles and Mom decided to stop, let us play in the hotel room and get an early start tomorrow. So here we are in Needles. Mom has fed us and we're snuggling.

Mom had the entire back of the car decked out for us kitties! She brought loungers, warm blankies, litter box food and toys!! Perf and I stayed in the back. Blossom was caught sleeping with the enemy, the dog!!! She'll never learn!

Mom kept saying All was quiet on the Western front as we were driving!!! Mom said we were wonderful travelers!!!

Brrrrr.....

It's been cold and wet here! The heat has been on and we've been on the warm fuzzy blankets! Mom has lots of warm things out for us...which we love! She's trying to get all our stuff ready for our cross country trip-warm things to lie on-and she realized the pet stores don't sell small warm fuzzy things to lie on for us kitties! So she's going to start making them and maybe selling them with proceeds going to Best friends or some other animal charity!!

Mom is flying to Scotland tomorrow-her granny passed away on sunday and she's going to the funeral. She'll be leaving us in the trusty capable hands of our Uncle....hmmmm...we'll have to wait and see just how capable he is when faced with 3 kitties that miss their mom!!!

We just wanted to say hello to all our friends-mom has promised when she gets back she'll let us visit everyone!!! So we hope all of you have a great rest of the week and weekend!

Trouble Tuesday??

It's tuesday and the dog is amped up! We hope that she'll be going sheep herding today so she can leave the house and leave us alone! She only bothers me....I'm not sure why..I think it's because I smack her! And of course mom has to be there with her flashy box!

We're supposed to get rain here in southern california. We're hoping the burn areas don't flood!

A lazy Saturday!

A saturday with mom!!! We love having mom around! She'll be here with us thru next weekend! Maybe she'll let us visit our friends more regularly now!! We feel like mom has been a bit of a slacker-we'll have to get on her!

The vet called mom back yesterday about Kodak's Fructosamine and his protein...the levels have improved since his last vet visit. Mom is pretty happy!!!

We hope everyone had a great saturday! We know we did! We lounged in the sun, watched birds and snuggled with mom!!

A day at the Vet for Mom again...

Mom took me, Kodak, to the vet today. I had to have my fructosamine level checked and a urinalysis. But I'm always good at the vet-I only saw the vet tech today so I was in and out in no time, but when they brought me back out, mom was crying....it seems she was given Winton's ashes today and was bringing him home to his final resting place-home!

We have him back now. Mom doesn't have a special spot set aside yet. She's going to figure that out next week. But she received a wonderful book, Cat Heaven, and then she made a picture book of Winton on Shutterfly, which arrived yesterday. Mom added every kitties wonderful words to the picture book so that she never forgets the kindness and compassion that was shown to her and all of us!!

Thank you!

The Fires in Southern California

The fires that are burning throughout numerous counties here in Southern California are HORRIBLE! The fires have taken communities by complete surprise and have devastated areas! We are in southern california but not in the immediate fire area-yet we are feeling the impact!Mom had ash all over her car last night and as you see in the picture the large smoke-filled sky. And were at least 30 miles from the fires-it must be awful closer!! The smokey smell in the air, the smoke, the super low humidity, the winds-it's been awful! We hope and pray that every hooman and animal has been able to get out of the way of the fires-unfortunately that hasn't been the case...mom read in todays paper about two kitties that didn't make it because they hid under a bed when their hoomans had to race out of the house FAST! Their hoomans grabbed the carrier but the kitties were too spooked to get in and raced and hid, We are so sorry to anyone who has lost a house or a furry loved one during these horrible fires! We sure do hope it stops soon!!!

Thank You all! And some last pictures!

I just wanted to thank each and everyone of you( and I am slowly doing that) for caring so much to send such compassionate words! It means the world to me!

I wanted to share some pictures of Winton that were taken on his last day. My son was flying out that day so I had him take pictures of Winton and I-and I'm so glad I did!!! He was a great boy and will be missed! Thank you all for caring!

Rest in Peace my sweet Winton!

                             R.I.P   Winton
                February 1997? - November 10, 2008

I knew this day was coming-I tried to prepare for it, but is anyone ever prepared? I didn't know if I'd know it was time-but when it came to it I knew! I came home today from putting my son on a plane to my sweet boy just not acting himself! He was vomiting-he vomited three times in about 2 hours, was straining in the litter box trying to poop with no success and the telltale sign...he was wandering around the house looking for a place to hide. He was crying at a closed bedroom that he hadn't shown any interest in in years! He was looking for a place to die! I knew it was time! I called the vet and I was rushed right in. They were wonderful! I still had doubts about if I was doing the right thing. They took him back into the back to put an IV catheter in his front leg and then brought him back to me! This was my time to let him go! No more pain! No more dehydration! No more High Blood Pressure! No more fluids! No more wasting away! I hugged and kissed him and told him I loved him! I so loved him! What a sweet boy! He went so peacefully! The vet actually told me that his heart had stopped before she had finished injecting him! He was ready! His heart was ready! He was telling me it was time and thank god I was able to be there for him and help him!

I called my wonderful petsitter before I left for the vet! She has been with all of my animals for about 4 years! She raced to the vet to say her goodbyes to my boy as well! We were both there with him when he went to the rainbow bridge! Rest in peace my sweet Winton! You will be forever loved!

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
