A day at the Vet for Mom again...

Mom took me, Kodak, to the vet today. I had to have my fructosamine level checked and a urinalysis. But I'm always good at the vet-I only saw the vet tech today so I was in and out in no time, but when they brought me back out, mom was crying....it seems she was given Winton's ashes today and was bringing him home to his final resting place-home!

We have him back now. Mom doesn't have a special spot set aside yet. She's going to figure that out next week. But she received a wonderful book, Cat Heaven, and then she made a picture book of Winton on Shutterfly, which arrived yesterday. Mom added every kitties wonderful words to the picture book so that she never forgets the kindness and compassion that was shown to her and all of us!!

Thank you!

I am glad that Winton is home with you now. Your Mom will find the perfect spot for to rest with you.
We hope that her heart is starting to heal a little bit. It is so very hard.
Smooches to you and I'm happy that the VET visit was quick and not awful for you Kodak!

We cried, too, when we brought home Pixie's ashes. That book sounds very special.

We're glad that the vet visit went well Kodak - especially since it was already hard for your Mom. We know that she will find just the right way to take care of them. The book was a wonderful idea - a beautiful tribute to a wonderful companion.

Purrs to you all,
Pearl, Bert and Jake

I'm glad that Winton's home again. When Eddie left, my mom made him a special wooden box and included a little of his fur, his collar and tags and a little toy. On the sides it has red mosaic tiles because red was his favorite color, and on top there are little tiles that just say "Eddie at rest." I know making that special box and keeping him here helped my mom out a lot, and I know too that my big bro is always with us.

My mum has Puss angels ashes sitting on her bedside table. She thinks that when she goes to the bridge, she has given her family instructions that they put all the kitty ashes with her. So she has company when she goes. Then her friends kids will row out into the harbour in front of their house, and put her ashes into the sea with some flowers.

Does that make her crazy?

Anyways we bet you are glad to have your boy home with the family again.

Hugs to you all.

Glad your vet visit went well, although sad about Winton's ashes. We like the sound of the picture book to honour him and the Cat Heaven boo, too.

Hope the fires are under control now.
